I - Instructions for Submission
The author responsible for submitting the paper must be registered for the congress, with payment confirmed.
The following will be accepted for presentation at the congress:
- Prospective and retrospective clinical studies in coloproctology
- Case Reports
- New surgical techniques
- New technologies
- Experimental studies in coloproctology
Abstract submission is exclusively through the congress website.
The author must choose a preferred presentation format (Free Paper, Video, or Poster). The author must also choose whether to accept another presentation format for the work if it is the decision of the Scientific Committee.
Any modifications to the submitted content will only be allowed until the final submission deadline.
Tutorial for submitting a abstract:

Access the restricted area by providing your login and password registered during the registration. New menus will appear.

Click on the [My Abstracts] menu.

Follow the on-screen instructions to access the abstract submission form. Complete all fields in the online form.

Before submitting it, carefully review it. Any changes will only be allowed until the final submission deadline.
ATTENTION: The author responsible for submission must fill in all fields in the online form. All communications regarding the scientific submission will only be sent to this author through the registered email. -
Choose the preferred presentation format:
- Free Papers (oral presentation)
- Free Videos (video)
- Electronic Poster
The Scientific Committee will decide on the acceptance and presentation categories for each abstract (oral presentation, electronic poster, or video).
At the time of submission, the author must decide if they accept presenting the abstract in another category, should the Scientific Committee determine it to be more suitable.
- After finalizing the submission, click the "Log Out" button.
- After submission, an automatic email will be sent to the responsible author (who submitted the paper), confirming the registered information. Verify that all information is correct. If it is not, you must access your restricted area and make the necessary changes (which can be done until the submission deadline).
- If you do not receive the automatic email confirming the submission on the same day, the work may not have been submitted correctly. In this case, contact HelpDesk, stating the event and the issue that occurred.
- To access the restricted area again, click on the MY LOGIN menu and provide your LOGIN and PASSWORD. To recover your password, use the "Forgot Password" option located below the login form.
II - Instructions for Preparing Abstracts
• The abstract must be submitted in Portuguese or Spanish.
• TRANSLATION -> All abstracts must also be submitted in English.
• The title should be concise and reflect the study to be presented, with a 250-character limit.
• The body of the text should not exceed 2,500 characters without spaces (excluding title and authorship/affiliation).
• Various structures for abstracts will be accepted. The following is suggested:
- Clinical and experimental studies: Introduction, Objective, Method, Results, and Conclusion.
- Case reports: Case Presentation, Discussion, and Final Comments.
- Surgical Technique / Technology: Introduction, Technique Description, and Final Comments.
• The institution(s) where the work was carried out, as well as the names of the authors, should NOT be mentioned in the body of the text and should not be translated.
• The content of the work should be related to the chosen topic.

• Up to 3 keywords must be provided.
• Bibliographic references should not be included in the electronic submission. Authors are encouraged to avoid the use of abbreviations.
• Commercial names are not allowed, only generic drug names written in lowercase letters.
• Do not include images (photographic materials, imaging exams, etc.), graphs, or tables in the abstract. These should only be included in the material to be presented at the congress.
III - Important Information
• The deadline for submitting works is: 06/10/2025 .
• There is no limit to the number of submissions per registered participant.
• Each work may have a maximum of 08 (eight) authors. Please list the authors in the desired order. There is a specific field for the main author and space for entering the remaining co-authors.
• The results will be published in the author’s restricted area, under the [My Works] menu, on 08/01/2025.
Regarding the presentation of accepted works:
The presenter must be included in the list of authors and must be registered for the 2025 Brazilian Congress of Coloproctology.
• All materials produced about the works (proceedings, certificates, etc.) will be an exact reproduction of the information submitted by the author. Therefore, no changes can be made after the submission deadline, including title, abstract, or authorship details. Please note that the information provided is entirely the responsibility of the submitting author.
• Certificates will be issued for all accepted free papers and videos that were presented in the respective sessions.
• Certificates will be issued for all accepted posters that were submitted electronically by the cutoff date and presented for discussion in the respective sessions.
• Only 01 (one) certificate per presented work will be issued. Certificates will be issued online following the order in which authors are registered.
• The final decision of the evaluation committee is final, irrevocable, and non-appealable and will not be reviewed.
• By submitting works, authors agree to comply with the laws and ethical standards governing research with human beings and animals, including approval by the Ethics Committees for Research and Clinical Ethics Committees for Animal Research.
• The Scientific Committee reserves the right to reject works without providing reasons for the rejection.
• The Organizing Committee and the Scientific Committee of the congress will not be responsible for the content of posters, free papers, or videos, as this is the sole responsibility of the authors.
• The Organizing Committee and the Scientific Committee of the congress will not be responsible for transportation, accommodation, or any other costs related to the presentation of works.
• The submission of the work represents a commitment by the author(s) to present it, if accepted, during the event.

V - Instructions for Presentation - Oral Presentation and VIDEOS
- The oral presentation should be made in 7 minutes, followed by 3 minutes for discussion.
- The presenter should prepare their presentation using slides (PowerPoint) and arrive 2 hours in advance at the Media Desk/VIP Room to save the file on the system using a USB drive.
- The presenting author must prepare the presentation, which should include: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results/Discussion, and Conclusion. Figures, tables, and graphs are welcome.
- If none of the authors attend the session, the presentation will be canceled, and no certificate will be issued.
- Information regarding the day and time of the presentation will be available in the restricted area of the author responsible for the submission, through the [My Works] menu, and will also be outlined in the congress's scientific program.
- The Congress Organizing Committee will not be responsible for registration fees, transportation, accommodation, or any other costs incurred for presenting works.
- The date and time of the presentation are determined by the Scientific Committee, and it is not possible to request a change in the participation date. If the presenter needs to be in multiple sessions simultaneously, the session Chair should be informed on the day of the event.

ELECTRONIC POSTER

- Submission deadline: until 08/20/2025 - The system will remain open until 11:59 PM - Brasília Time.
- Instructions for creating and submitting the e-poster can be found in the link above.
- The poster will be evaluated based on its visual impact. Visual impact refers to the poster’s ability to capture the evaluator's attention, image quality, ease of reading, and dynamic presentation. At the same time, it must convey the message clearly and with relevant content.
- Accepted works will be displayed during the corresponding day of their scheduled discussion at the congress on totems.
- Accepted posters should not be printed. The poster exhibition will be 100% digital.
- The author who submitted the abstract through the website is responsible for timely submission and proper formatting. The congress organization is not responsible for files submitted after the deadline or with formatting issues.
- Accepted posters will be discussed. Each poster will be assigned a specific day and time for discussion and evaluation. It is expected that posters be self-explanatory, so the discussion session will only be for discussion, not for presentation.
- One of the authors, who is properly registered for the 2025 Brazilian Congress of Coloproctology, must be present at the designated totem to discuss their work at the assigned time.
VII - Evaluation Criteria and Awards
All accepted works for presentation will be competing for prizes. Each work will compete for the prize category it was accepted in.
The ranking of each work will be a combination of the scores from both evaluation phases.
Criteria for evaluating:
First phase – Pre-Congress:
- The works will be evaluated, scored, and ranked at the time of submission.
- Relevant criteria in the evaluation of the abstract include: Relevance of the subject, clarity, title, adherence to pre-established criteria.
- The works will be evaluated by reviewers who are unaware of the institution of origin and authors of the work.
Second phase – Congress:
- The works will be evaluated during their presentation by 2 evaluators.
- Relevant criteria for evaluating Presentations (Free Papers and Videos) include: Clarity of the presentation, Quality of slides/video, Mastery of the subject by the presenter, Relevance of the subject, Consistency with the submitted abstract.
- Relevant criteria for evaluating Posters include: Visual impact of the poster, Mastery of the subject by the author during the discussion, Relevance of the subject, Consistency with the submitted abstract.
Oral Presentation
1st place: R$ 6,000.00 (six thousand reais)
2nd place: R$ 4,000.00 (four thousand reais)
3rd place: R$ 3,000.00 (three thousand reais)
Video
1st place: R$ 5,000.00 (five thousand reais)
2nd place: R$ 3,000.00 (three thousand reais)
3rd place: R$ 2,000.00 (two thousand reais)
Poster
1st place: R$ 4,000.00 (four thousand reais)
2nd place: R$ 2,000.00 (two thousand reais)
3rd place: R$ 1,000.00 (one thousand reais)
VIII - Publication
The congress proceedings will be published in the Journal of Coloproctology, in electronic format, and will be available on the congress website.
IX - Certificates
After the congress, the electronic certificates for the works will be made available on the event website. To print or download the PDF, the congress participant must access the “Certificates” section on the congress homepage, enter the registered email, and complete the “Satisfaction Survey.”
Important: Certificates are not sent directly to the participant’s email.
A certificate of work presentation will be issued, containing the title of the work, the approved presentation type, and the name of the presenter. If the presenter of the work is different from the one indicated during submission, the change must be requested through the congress website’s HelpDesk.
This certificate will be available to the author responsible for the work submission, is valid for all authors, and may be shared by the author responsible for the work.
Regarding Posters: the issuance of the electronic certificate is conditioned on the submission of the e-poster slide and participation in the event by at least one author.
Regarding Free Papers and Videos: the issuance of the electronic certificate is conditioned on the presentation of the work in the designated session.
